Edge of Tomorrow attained a cult status shortly after its release in 2014, and fans of this ground-breaking action flick spent years waiting for its follow-up. It seems they won’t have to wait much longer as it’s finally been
officially announced that we’re getting a sequel.
The first film tells the story of public relations officer William Cage, who’s stuck in a time loop fighting alien invaders after being killed in combat. He comes across skilled warrior Rita Vrataski, who agrees to help him improve his fighting skills so they could defeat the extraterrestrial invaders.
Edge of Tomorrow starred Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, who
“Tom and I sat down with Christopher McQuarrie, who was one of the writers of the original, and suddenly started hatching a story that I loved more than the original, which I never thought possible,” said Liman.
Matthew Robinson was in charge of writing the screenplay this time around, but it’s still unclear when we can expect it to hit the theaters.
