Elizabeth Olsen Makes TV Debut in “Sorry For Your Loss”

Elizabeth Olsen has been pretty busy saving the world with the rest of the Avengers, but she’s ready to explore new artistic territories. The young actress landed her first major TV role in Sorry for Your Loss, and the new trailer of this heartbreaking drama just dropped.

The 10-episode series was being developed by Showtime before it was moved to Facebook Watch. It tells the story of Leigh Shaw, who’s life completely transforms after her husband’s sudden death. This loss forces her to learn more about herself and the person she lost, while facing the fact her loved one wasn’t who she thought he was.

The official synopsis describes Sorry for Your Loss as “simultaneously devastating and uplifting, with grounded, flawed characters desperate to find humor anywhere they can and dives into grief as an unavoidable, universal, transformative part of life.”

It sounds like the perfect story for Olsen to tackle and return to her acting roots. She rose to prominence thanks to the role in indie thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene. It was a character-driven project of smaller scale, unlike big blockbusters we usually see her in these days.

Sorry for Your Loss seems to be something similar and it also stars Janet McTeer, Jovan Adepo and Kelly Marie Tran. It premieres on Facebook Watch on September 18.
