Ellen DeGeneres is Coming to Netflix With “Relatable”

It’s been 15 years since Ellen DeGeneres graced us with her last stand-up special, but she’s ready for a comeback. The comedian-turned-talk show host will be back to her roots in Relatable, an upcoming Netflix special.

Ellen wrapped filming this exciting project in late August, and couldn’t wait to share the news with her fans. She announced her comeback to the stage with a hilarious video on Instagram.

The Emmy winning talk show host can be seen talking on a phone with a couple of her famous friends, including Bono, Reese Witherspoon, and Barack Obama. They’re all excited to hear her stand-up special Relatable will stream on December 18, just in time for holidays.

Ellen’s Netflix special consists of footage filmed during her three-city West Coast tour. She made a stop at the Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, the Balboa Theatre in San Diego and the Benaroya Hall in Seattle.

Relatable is poised to make a big splash on the streaming network since its DeGeneres’s first return to stand-up in over a decade. The star previously filmed two specials for HBO – Ellen DeGeneres: The Beginning (2000) and Ellen DeGeneres: Here and Now (2003). Both projects received two Emmy nominations, and we can’t wait to see if she’ll manage to replicate that success with Relatable.
