Sir Elton John’s retirement tour is a gift that keeps on giving and its final UK show will be as epic as it gets. The legendary English musician is set to headline Glastonbury Festival next summer and this show will serve as the last UK date of his ongoing farewell tour.

John released an official statement confirming he’ll perform on the Pyramid Stage on June 25, 2023 and said he couldn’t be more excited to be headlining this event.

“The festival’s genuine, enthusiastic support for the best emerging talent is something I’ve long admired.  There is no more fitting way to say goodbye to my British fans. I can’t wait to embrace the spirit of the greatest festival in the world. It’s going to be incredibly emotional,” said John in a statement.

Glastonbury co-organizer Emily Eavis echoed his words, saying it gives her enormous pleasure to announce that the one and only Elton John will make his first Glastonbury appearance next year and have “the mother of all send-offs” at their festival.

John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour kicked off back in 2018, and it’s expected to consist of over 300 concerts worldwide. It has grossed $358.6 million across 179 shows so far, and it’s on the quest to become one of the highest-grossing tours of the 21st century.
