Eminem Just Achieved a Historic Feat with “Revival”

Eminem‘s latest album Revival has scored the No. 1 on the charts in its debut week. This is the eighth time in his career this happens – every single one of Eminem’s albums since 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP has scored the first place.

Shady is certainly still wildly popular, but he’s recently mentioned he might be wrapping up his career with Revival. “I don’t know. I’m at a funny place, you know?” he said in an NPR interview. “Hip-hop has been around for a long time but I don’t know if it’s really been around long enough to see how long someone could actually go for. You’ve still got guys like me and Jay-Z. Redman still has it, to me. I’m not sure what I’m going to do next, but I’m still passionate about music, and hip-hop.”

With this achievement, Eminem tied with some other artists who have also had eight No. 1 albums, such as U2, Madonna and Kenny Chesney. The record holders are the legendary Beatles with 19 No.1 albums in their career.
