Emma Thompson in Talks For Disney’s “Cruella”

Emma Thompson could be joining Emma Stone in Disney’s live-action take on the 101 Dalmatians‘ villain.

Multiple outlets confirm that the Oscar-winner is in early negotiations to join the Craig Gillespie-helmed furrier spin-off Cruella.

Should she join, she’ll star opposite Stone, who has been set to play Cruella De Vil, the villain of the animated classic. The character was previously portrayed by Glenn Close in the 1996 live-action film produced by John Hughes.

It is currently unknown what role Thompson would be playing nor the film’s specific storyline.

Gillespie (I, Tonya)is directing from a script by Tony McNamara.
