First Photo of Emma Watson on the Set of “Little Women”

Little Women is one of the most anticipated period dramas in recent memory, and it doesn’t seem the buzz is going to die down any time soon. Anticipation just started growing stronger after fans got to see the first pic of Emma Watson in full costume.

The Harry Potter star was seen on the set, wearing the full Meg March style get-up – carpet bag and all! Her costume also features a blue skirt and a tweed jacket with a blue ribbon tied around the waist. Watson’s signature brunette locks are tied up in a simple ponytail.

Seeing the young actress in full costume makes it impossible to imagine anyone else playing the eldest March sister, but she wasn’t Greta Gerwig’s first choice. The Oscar-nominated filmmaker initially cast Emma Stone as Meg, but she had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Watson was more than happy to fill her shoes and it turns out they fit her perfectly!

Little Women is based on the classic novel by Louisa May Alcott. It tells the tale of four sisters, coming of age in America, in the aftermath of the Civil War. Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, and Eliza Scanlen will play the remaining three siblings. The rest of the stellar cast also includes Meryl Streep, Timothée Chalamet and Laura Dern.
