The Lyon family welcomed us into their messy life in 2015, when Empire premiered on Fox, and they’re sticking around for at least another year. The network has just announced they’ve renewed the hit show for Season 6.
Empire centers on Lucious Lyon, a hip hop mogul with a dark past, who must choose a successor who will control his dynasty. His life is turned upside down after his ex-wife is released from prison, determined to take control of her share of the company – and her sons.
Fox Entertainment’s president of entertainment Michael Thorn announced the renewal, and thanked the entire cast and crew for making Empire what it is today.
“Empire continues to break barriers with its emotionally powerful storytelling, and it remains a core part of the Fox legacy… We know there are so many more stories to tell, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for Season 6,” read the official statement by Thorn.
