Ewan McGregor in Talks to Join “Birds of Prey”

Ewan McGregor’s cheeky smile is going to be put to good use as he is in discussions to take on the role of a villain.

The Christopher Robin actor has reportedly in negotiations to sign on to the new anti-hero flick, Birds of Prey.

The film focuses on the group of heroines and vilenesses from the DC Comics, including Harley Quinn (with Margot Robbie reprising the role she played in Suicide Squad), Huntress, Black Canary, and The Question.

Ewan will join the ranks as the male villain Black Mask, who is known for being an enemy of Batman.

Black Mask is the criminal alias of Roman Sionis, who murdered his wealthy, status-obsessed parents to take control of the family corporation, and then lost everything when he proved to be a terrible businessman. Seeking revenge on the people he blamed for his own failures — in particular, Bruce Wayne and Wayne Enterprises — he returns, with a black mask, as the head of a gang called the False Face Society.

Cathy Yan is directing the project which also stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rosie Perez which is set for release on the 7th of February 2020.
