President and CEO of Discovery Communications, David Zaslav announced on Wednesday that Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin will be returning to the network in 2018.

In a press release it was stated that the Irwins will not only serve as global ambassadors for Discovery Communications, but will also develop and produce TV projects for Animal Planet.

The first episode of The Crocodile Hunter, which debuted in Australia in 1996, was actually footage of Steve and wife Terri trapping crocodiles together on their honeymoon. The show debuted in the US a year later, becoming a worldwide hit for the network, airing until 2007.

Steve starred in several Animal Planet documentaries, when in 2006 he died while filming a documentary titled Ocean’s Deadliest after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb.
