The Crown actress has been tapped to join the Fast and Furious franchise now that her reign is over.
Vanessa Kirby most recently starred as Princess Margaret on Netflix’s hit series about the English monarchy, The Crown. Variety reports that the 30-year-old British BAFTA winner is in final talks to star opposite Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham in the high-speed franchise.
The next installment in the Fast and Furious franchise is helmed by director David Leitch (Deadpool 2) from a script by Chris Morgan — who joined the franchise with Tokyo Drift and has since penned six films.
Johnson and Statham will reprise their roles of Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, respectively. Kirby is set to play an MI-5 agent and Shaw’s sister.
Production on the feature is scheduled to commence this fall but the storyline is scarce.
The eight Fast and Furious installments have grossed more than $5.1 billion at the global box office.
