Pennsylvania — A volunteer fire company cites unruly parent behavior from previous years as reason it has chosen to cancel this year’s Easter egg hunt for children.
According to a Facebook post by The Norco Fire Company in North Coventry Township, the annual children’s event won’t be held this year. Deputy Chief Chuck Hipple claims that there has been a recurring problem in past years of some of the participating children’s parents running onto the playing field despite having specifically having been asked not to, and posing a danger to small children, the AP reports. According to Hipple it’s not the majority of people but unfortunately a handful of parents who “just can’t seem to let the kids have fun”
North Coventry Township officials say they hope to try to hold the event another year.
