First Look at Zac Efron in New Ted Bundy Biopic

Zac Efron won us over thanks to many comedic roles he played over the years, but the former Disney star is exploring uncharted territory with his next movie. First trailer for Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile sees him transforming into infamous serial killer Ted Bundy.

A new trailer dropped just in time for the world premiere of this biopic at Sundance Film Festival. This promising project puts a twist on Bundy’s story by telling it from the point of view of his girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who struggles to accept his sinister nature.

Efron had to undergo a dramatic transformation to prepare for the role of Ted Bundy – he ended up losing 13 pounds thanks to cycling every day on a stationary bike. He was attracted to this project because it tells Bundy’s story from a very unique perspective, but the young actor wanted to make sure it doesn’t celebrate him in any shape or form.

“I feel a responsibility to make sure that this movie is not a celebration of Ted Bundy. Or a glorification of him. But, definitely, a psychological study of who this person was. In that, there’s honesty,” explained Zac Efron.
