First Look At Live-Action “Dora The Explorer”

Dora the Explorer has inspired millions of little girls around the world to be more curious, adventurous and brave. She’ll continue her mission on the big screen when the live-action adaptation of the popular animated series hits the theaters. The first look at the new Dora is finally here, with Isabela Moner playing the teen version of the beloved character.

Moner and Dora go way back since the young actress did some voice work on the spin-off Dora and Friends. She’s admired this iconic character since childhood and even dressed up as Dora for Halloween.

“My friends called me Dora for so long after that. And now this comes up, and they have a bigger reason to call me Dora. I love it. We don’t have Latina heroines in theaters. I haven’t seen Marvel doing it. I’m excited to play that for young audiences.” said Moner who previously starred in Transformers: The Last Knight and Sicario: Day of the Soldado.

The upcoming movie picks up on Dora’s life after the show. It finds the jungle adventurer dealing with high school and leading a new group of friends. Her sidekick Boots the monkey and cousin Diego will also make an appearance when Dora the Explorer starts her adventure on the big screen on August 2, 2019.
