Bill O’Reilly Out, Tucker Carlson In

20 years after he joined the network, American television host, political commentator, and author Bill O’Reilly is officially out at Fox News, reports the Los Angeles Times. In a statement issued by 21st Century Fox yesterday (Wednesday), Wednesday, the network declared the end of the host’s decades long tenure “After a thorough and careful review of the allegations.”

Earlier this month Hollywood Reporter reported that while O’Reilly and Fox News had paid $13 million to women accusing O’Reilly of sexual abuse and harassment dating back to 2002, more accusations followed the original story leading to the host and the show he ran named after him, “The O’Reilly Factor’ to lose more than 50 of its advertisers,

Since O’Reilly hosted arguably the the top-rated cable news and the Los Angeles Times reports that the network could lose as much as 25% of its prime-time audience with the removal of O’Reilly. However, TIME reports that popular host Tucker Carlson will take the 8 p.m. time slot.
