A revival of the iconic sitcom Fraiser will arrive sooner than we expected. The show’s star Kelsey Grammer told Collider in a recent interview that new episodes will be released in “the first quarter” of 2022.

Grammer revealed that the sitcom is yet to start filming, as the writers are polishing the story, but that he remains optimistic about the release date regardless.

“When will we see a Frasier? Probably in the first quarter of next year,” said Grammer. He also shared that he believes the revival will reunite the majority of the original cast. “I’m certainly hopeful that we will, and I’m fairly confident that they’ll come back.”

Fraiser was created as a spinoff of another iconic sitcom Cheers, focusing on Dr. Fraiser Crane (Grammer) as he returns to his hometown of Seattle. The series ran for 11 seasons between 1993 and 2004 and also starred Jane Leeves, David Hyde Pierce, Peri Gilpin, and John Mahoney. It was critically acclaimed during its entire run, winning 37 Primetime Emmy Awards, including five consecutive nods for the Outstanding Comedy Series.

The revival was initially rumored in 2016, but these plans weren’t confirmed until late 2019. In February, 2021, streaming service Paramount+ officially greenlit the reboot and made a 10-episode order.
