Frank Grillo Joins “Hitman’s Bodyguard” Sequel

2019 has just gotten even busier for Frank Grillo.

Grillo has added another acting gig to his slew of projects, including Donnybrook, Boss Level opposite Mel Gibson and Naomi Watts, Point Blank and Once Upon a Time in Staten Island.

The Captain America star has been cast in the sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard. The 2017 original proved to be a success hauling  $75.5 million in the US and more than $176 million globally.

Grillo joins returning stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson as leads, as well as Salma Hayek. According to Variety, Grillo will portray an Interpol agent who recruits Bryce (Reynolds), Kincaid (Jackson) and Sonia (Salma Hayek) to help stop a cyber attack. The story is set in the Amalfi Coast, a stretch of coastline in southern Italy.

Australian filmmaker Patrick Hughes Tom O’Connor also return as director and screenwriter respectively. 

The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard begins filming this month. 

There is no official release date for the film yet.
