Much to Game of Thrones fan’s liking, it has been confirmed that the on-screen romance between Jon Snow and Ygritte, has become a real-life engagement between co-stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie.
Five years ago, in sync with their GoT on-screen romance, the actors stirred up relationship rumors. A year later in 2013, they reportedly split up, only to reconcile and continue to fuel the romance speculations. The couple officially confirmed their relationship in April 2016, making their red carpet debut as a couple at the Olivier Awards in London.
Harington spoke of the relationship’s early days, which began on set while shooting in Iceland for season 2, telling L’Uomo Vogue that those weeks were his favorite while shooting the series.
“Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love. If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
In June, Harington revealed on The Late Late Show with James Cordon that he and Leslie have moved in together saying that he’s moved in with his other best friend, Rose. “I’m very, very happy and it’s going well.”
