David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, creators of HBO’s Game of Thrones, will reteam with the network for Confederate, an alt-history drama series, as Deadline reports.
Confederate will revolve around the events before the Third American Civil War. However, in this alternate timeline, the Southern states have successfully seceded from the Union and slavery is legal. In fact, it evolves into a modern institution over time.
Besides Benioff and Weiss as writers and executive producers, the other names on this project include Nichelle D. Tramble, Malcolm Spellman, Carolyn Strauss, and Bernadette Caulfield.
