A Game of Thrones reunion is officially happening and fans of the hit HBO fantasy drama will get to see the Seven Kingdoms’ biggest stars together again.
The GoT cast will get together one more time for a special in the form of a home video reunion hosted by Conan O’Brien. There’s a catch though. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the special, which was shot in the series’ primary filming location, Belfast, will not air on HBO. The special will be part of a complete series box set, which means that it will arrive after the final season airs, which also means the reunion will debut sometime in 2019 after the series had ended.
News of the reunion surfaces after Sean Bean AKA Ned Stark, leaked news of the special during an interview.
“It was for season eight, the last one. So they decided to get all the characters together for a bit for this big show in Belfast and [O’Brien] kind of hosted the evening,” he said.
“It was the last episode, so we all got together,” added Bean. “It was good! It’s funny with work, you don’t really keep in touch. You do so many types of jobs in that part of the world. It’s just like whenever I see old friends or even old drama school friends, it’s just the same, we pick up where we left off last time.”
Game of Thrones returns for its final six episodes in April.
