George Clooney’s “Catch-22” TV Adaptation Lands at Hulu

George Clooney has found a home for his TV comeback.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 56-year-old actor is putting back on his TV regular shoes and will star in a six-episode, limited-series adaptation of Joseph Heller’s iconic novel Catch-22. Last time Clooney had the job of a series regular was almost two decades ago on the hit medical drama, ER.

Rather than returning to a traditional network, the series is landing at Hulu. Clooney will play Col. Catcart in a World War II Italy setting. The story is centered on Captain John Yossarian, a US Air Force bombardier trying to fulfill his service requirements while maintaining his sanity so he can go home.

This TV adaptation comes years after the book was made into a film in 1970, directed by Mike Nichols and starred Alan Arkin, Martin Balsam and Bob Balaban.

Clooney will also be serving as director as well as executive producer on this project. The episodes were penned by Luke Davies and David Michod.
