“Get Out” returns to theaters on President’s Day in select AMC theaters

Get Out, written and directed by Jordan Peele is returning to select AMC theaters across the United States for a free screening on President’s Day, February 19th, 2018.

Get Out stars are Daniel Kaluuya as Chris Washington, an African American photographer and Allison Williams as his girlfriend, Rose. What seems at first like a friendly encounter with her family turns into a living nightmare.

One of the main reasons Get Out was so popular in theaters was because of the controversial subject matter. Get Out deals with racism in contemporary America. Peele explained in his WGA acceptance speech that this film was “a passion project. It was something that I put my love into, I put my soul into, so getting this from you means so much.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jordan Peele and Universal Pictures decided to give audiences a free screening in order to say “thank you” for making the movie a success. The free screening of Get Out will be at 7pm and tickets can only be picked up on President’s Day.
