Ginnifer Goodwin to Star in “Why Women Kill”

Ginnifer Goodwin has been tapped to star in Why Women Kill.

News of her casting comes just days after it was announced that Lucy Liu has joined CBS All Access’ upcoming dark comedic drama.

The news that Goodwin, best known for her role as Snow White on Once Upon a Time, will go back in time to the ‘60s in Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry’s forthcoming dramedy was announced by the streaming service Tuesday.

Why Women Kill follows 3 women living in 3 different decades — a housewife in the ‘60s, a socialite in the ‘80s (Liu), and a lawyer in 2018; each dealing with infidelity in their marriages. According to Entertainment Tonight, Goodwin will play Beth Ann, whose story takes place in 1963. The official description of the ideal housewife is, “She is kind, cheerful and warm. But if you get too close, you start to see that she wears a mask to hide her pain. Beth Ann’s whole world revolves around her husband, and so she is understandably defensive and immediately in denial when told Rob is having an affair. Determined to learn the sordid details for herself, Beth Ann is in for a life-changing shift of perspective.”

The role of the third woman has yet to be cast.
