Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling are ready to get back into the ring and they’re going to Vegas this time around! Netflix just renewed GLOW for its third season, but the network is yet to announce its return date.
This critically acclaimed comedy series is set in the ‘80s and it’s inspired by a television show about women’s wrestling called Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. It follows a young actress and a washed-up movie director who tries to bring this show to life by putting together a band of misfits, ready to take a punch.
GLOW premiered to rave reviews in 2017 and cemented its status as one of the best Netflix shows with Season 2. It’s been nominated for ten Emmy Awards, including the most prestigious honor at this ceremony – Outstanding Comedy Series.
Liz Flahive, who co-created it with Carly Mensch, said their show is charting its own path, despite being inspired by the original Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. The showrunners created new characters, and they’re excited about exploring their individual stories in the future seasons.
“I hope we have the number of seasons we dream of having because I think that we can then equally explore all of the women… We have these 15 amazing women and ideally, by the end of the show, you will know them all in a deeper way,” said Flahive.
