Let the awards season begin!
Awards season has been officially announced Monday with the list of the nominees for the 2018 Golden Globes. The 75th annual awards show will be hosted by Seth Meyers, live on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
Big Little Lies leads the TV categories with six noms, which comes with little surprise after the series’ big win at the 2017 Primetime Emmys. Following is Feud: Bette and Joan with 4 nominations. Leading the film categories with most nominations is The Shape of Water with 7 noms, while Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and The Post tied with 6 nominations each.
Meryl Streep recorded an outstanding achievement, earning her 29th Golden Globe nomination, more than anyone in history. Another standout nomination is Christopher Plummer, who was nominated for All the Money in the World, after replacing Kevin Spacey in the film.
The nominations included notable snubs and surprises. This year’s nominees in film and TV categories, reacted to their nominations. Here are some of the reactions.
Meryl Streep, nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama, for The Post: “I’m thrilled for the movie, for Steven and Tom, and for the incredible ensemble of actors who made this movie need its moment in history. Thanks HFPA.”
Tom Hanks, nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama, for The Post: “Very happy the work of the others on The Post has been given the attention they deserve. Thank you to the HFPA.”

She is a brilliant, brave and game changing human being and I wish to be half the woman she is someday. I share this with the whole cast and crew of BATTLE OF THE SEXES, a film I feel very lucky to have been a part of.”
Helen Mirren, nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical, for The Leisure Seeker: “I am honoured that our film, The Leisure Seeker has been recognized with this nomination.
