
Peter Farrelly will direct and adapt The Greatest Beer Run Ever (working title).
The Green Book helmer found his next film project at Skydance. The pic is based on the book The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A True Story of Friendship Stronger Than War.” The book by Joanna Molloy and John “Chickie” Donohue tells the true story of “Chickie,” who left New York in 1967 to track down and share a few beers with his childhood buddies in the Army… while they were fighting in Vietnam.
According to Deadline, the Oscar-winning director will co-write the script with his Green Book co-scribes Brian Currie and Pete Jones. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, and Andrew Muscato are producing, and the project is being overseen at Skydance by Don Granger, president of production
Green Book was nominated for five Academy Awards and won three, including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali. A box office success, the film brought in $314.7 million worldwide, including $85 million domestically.
