Green Book cemented its status as one of front-runners in this year’s Oscars race at the Producers Guild Awards. This critically acclaimed comedy topped the list of winners at this ceremony after scoring the best motion picture award.
Several Oscar darlings were in the running for this prestigious award. The list of nominees also included A Star Is Born, Roma and The Favourite, but Green Book came out swinging, picking up the biggest honor of the night. This victory comes a few weeks after this film won three Golden Globes, including best motion picture – musical or comedy.
Best picture winner at the Oscars is still difficult to predict, even after Producers Guild Awards, but this ceremony provided a bit of clarity when it comes to other categories. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is pretty much a lock for the best-animated feature award, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Won’t You Be My Neighbor? taking a trophy for the best documentary.
