Expectations are running high for the fourth season of Hacks following its triumph at the Emmy Awards, and we finally know what it has in store. Max shared the first full trailer for the next chapter of the acclaimed comedy series, which sees Deborah and Ava struggling to find common ground.
Hacks centers on a fading Las Vegas stand-up comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), who must work with a young down-on-her-luck comedy writer Ava Daniels (Hannah Einbinder) to rejuvenate her act. Season 4 will see tensions rise between the two of them as they try to get their late-night show up and running.
In addition to Smart and Einbinder, the fourth season of Hacks will also mark the return of Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, Rose Abdoo, Dan Bucatinsky, Helen Hunt, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Christopher McDonald, and Poppy Liu.
They’ll be joined by several newcomers, including guest stars Julianne Nicholson, Michaela Watkins, Bresha Webb, Robby Hoffman, Eric Balfour, Danny Jolles, Gavin Matts, Grover Whitmore III, Holmes, Jasmine Ashanti, Katy Sullivan, Matt Oberg, and Sandy Honig.
Hacks premiered on Max back in 2021, and it won the Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding comedy series for its latest season, in addition to three acting awards for Smart. Its fourth season will return to Max on April 10, and it will feature ten brand-new episodes.
