Halle Berry is Making a Directorial Debut With MMA Drama “Bruised”

Halle Berry is a woman of many talents, and she’s always in the mood for new adventures. The Oscar winner will play the lead in the MMA drama Bruised, but she’ll also be sitting in the director’s chair once this exciting project starts shooting.

Berry’s directorial debut centers on Jackie Justice, a disgraced MMA fighter who’s plotting her big comeback. After her 6-year-old son Manny walks back into her life, years after she abandoned him, Jackie decides to make a change and conquer her demons. She gets ready to face one of the fiercest rising stars of the MMA world and become the mother her kid deserves.

Relative newcomer Michelle Rosenfarb wrote the script for Bruised, which should start filming in March. Berry will work with the John Wick stunt team to prepare for this challenging endeavor.  We’re sure she’ll have no trouble getting in shape, since she already has several action-packed projects under her belt, including the X-Men series.

The premiere date of this drama remains a mystery, but Berry will star in several exciting projects before it hits the theaters. She’s set to appear alongside Keanu Reeves in the highly anticipated John Wick 3: Parabellum, before playing the lead in crime drama Jagged Edge.
