The Yellowstone universe is constantly expanding, and another spin-off series is just around the corner. Paramount+ just dropped the first full trailer for the highly-anticipated prequel series 1923, starring Hollywood veterans Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

Like the show’s name suggest, this series takes us back to the early years of the 20th century “when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west, and the Duttons who call it home.”

The prequel series centers on Jacob Dutton, the patriarch of the Yellowstone ranch, and his wife Cara, as they try to take care of their Montana estate during one of the most trying times in American history.

In addition to Ford and Mirren, 1923 will also star Jerome Flynn, Jennifer Ehle, Timothy Dalton, Sebastian Roché, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, and James Badge Dale. It’s the second prequel to Yellowstone, following the success of 1883, starring Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliott.

1923 will premiere on Paramount+ on December 18, following the latest episode of Yellowstone. The streamer already ordered two seasons of the series, featuring eight episodes each. Another spin-off titled 6666 is set to premiere next year and it’s taking place on the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas.
