It’s been almost 15 years since the last time we’ve seen Harrison Ford crack the whip as Indiana Jones, but he’s finally ready for a comeback. The fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise is on the way and Disney and Lucasfilm finally confirmed its release date and dropped the first trailer.

Ford appeared alongside the director James Mangold, his co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy at a presentation at Anaheim’s D23. The Oscar-nominated actor said that Waller-Bridge is one of the reasons why this sequel turned out so great, adding he’s very proud of it.

“Indiana Jones movies are about mystery and adventure, but they’re also about heart, and I’m really, really happy that we have a really human story to tell, as well as a movie that will kick your ass,” said Ford.

The first trailer didn’t reveal too much about the plot, but we know that the film will be set against the backdrop of the Space Race in 1969. The trailer also unveiled its official title, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

In addition to Ford and Waller-Bridge, the film will also star Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, and Mads Mikkelsen. After several delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it will hit theaters on June 30, 2023.
