Harry Styles, Ansel Elgort and More in the Running to Play Elvis in New Biopic

Baz Luhrmann is currently looking for an actor to play the lead in his upcoming Elvis biopic, and some of the most talented young stars are in the running for the role. Harry Styles, Ansel Elgort and Miles Teller are all among the top contenders to play the King of Rock and Roll.

Baz Luhrmann’s next film will focus on Elvis Presley’s early years, and its cast is already shaping up to be amazing. Tom Hanks has been cast as Colonel Tom Parker, the singer’s infamous manager who controlled every aspect of his life.

The lead actor is yet to be cast, but something tells us that the movie will be in safe hands. Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Austin Butler, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Harry Styles screen-tested for the role, and they all have a great track record behind them. All of the actors in the running have a singing background, but Luhrmann is yet to pick his favorite.

This won’t be his first time tackling this genre since he previously won an Oscar for the hit musical Moulin Rouge!
