As Variety reports, the animated comedy project with HBO and Jon Stewart behind it has been canceled.
Stewart was about to produce numerous animated pieces for HBO, and the plans for this were announced after he left the Daily Show.
Allegedly, the main problem with the project was the fact it was supposed to be animated. Since it would revolve around topical comedy, it was likely that he wouldn’t be able to create the content fast enough to keep with the current events.
However, this doesn’t mean the Stewart and HBO’s partnership is over. We expect to hear more about their upcoming projects soon.
