HBO has given us one of the most intriguing period dramas in recent years with The Gilded Age, and there’s more where that came from! The second season of Julian Fellowes’ acclaimed series ended its run just last week, and HBO promptly renewed it for Season 3.

Set in New York City during the industrial boom of the 1880s, The Gilded Age centers on the “new money” Russell family, who are trying to make a name for themselves in New York’s high society and constantly clashing with “old money” families, including their first-door neighbors, the Van Rhijn family.

The star-studded ensemble of The Gilded Age is led by Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Cynthia Nixon, and Christine Baranski, with Louisa Jacobson, Denée Benton, Taissa Farmiga, Harry Richardson, Blake Ritson, Thomas Cocquerel, Simon Jones, and Jack Gilpin in supporting roles.

Erin Underhill, president of Universal Television, said there’s much more story to tell with The Gilded Age, and added they’re delighted that HBO is giving fans another season of Julian Fellowes’ incredible storytelling.

“The cast and crew put so much of their heart and soul into the last two seasons, and we’re so proud that all this hard work is paying off with another season…you won’t want to miss what’s next!” said Underhill in a statement.
