HBO Reveals “Game of Thrones” Season 8 Premiere Date

HBO finally confirms that exact day Game of Thrones is scheduled to premiere. 

The latest installment in HBO’s very slow roll out of GoT‘s final episodes includes not one, but two treats for fans of the hit fantasy show. The cabler dropped a new teaser trailer that revealed the exact date the eighth and final season of the show is set to premiere. 

HBO first “let it slip” Friday that the GoT debut date was going to be announced during the weekend. And indeed HBO announced confirmed the date on Sunday just before the Season three premiere of True Detective.

The new and official tease features Jon Snow, Aria and Sansa of House of Stark. The three roam in the family’s crypt when the come upon stone status of themselves. And that’s when the crypt begins to freeze over and the Stark’s draw their swords. 

This teaser comes days after HBO released a promo, which featured the first-ever footage from the last season — an epic meeting between Sansa and Daenerys Targaryen in Winterfell.

We can now officially say — Game of Thrones returns April 14!
