Historical Drama “The Spanish Princess” Coming Back for Season 2

Historical mini-series The Spanish Princess was supposed to end after the first season, but Starz decided to give fans of the show what they’re asking for. The network renewed it for a second season, which will bring the story of Catherine of Aragon to an end.

The Spanish Princess serves as the sequel to the miniseries The White Queen and The White Princess, all based on novels by Philippa Gregory. It follows the adventures of Catherine of Aragon, as she struggles to adapt to English customs after her arranged marriage to Arthur Tudor. After his death, she goes on to marry his younger brother Henry VIII.

Showrunners and executive producers Emma Frost and Matthew Graham released an official statement after the show’s renewal and thanked Starz for giving them an opportunity to give this story an ending it deserves.

“We are thrilled to tell the next chapter of Catherine of Aragon’s story as she negotiates war, politics and marriage to the most dangerous King of England. As a company that always produces compelling and dynamic projects, Starz has been a great creative partner and we look forward to concluding Catherine’s journey with them.”
