Hong Chau Joins Cast Of “Watchmen”

Watchmen has made another addition to its already big cast. 

Deadline reports that Hong Chau has been tapped to star in the forthcoming HBO series from Damon Lindelof.

Chau’s latest TV credit was HBO’s Big Little Lies. Her other credits include Amazon’s Homecoming and Downsizing. 

The 40-year-old actress will star alongside the previously announced Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Jean Smart, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith, and Adelynn Spoon.

The series is based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ iconic comic series, but as creator Lindelof explained back it May, it won’t be an adaptation or sequel. 

“We have no desire to ‘adapt’ the twelve issues Mr. Moore and Mr. Gibbons created thirty years ago,” Lindelof wrote in a five-page letter he shared on Instagram. “Those issues are sacred ground and they will not be retread nor recreated nor reproduced nor rebooted. They will, however, be remixed.”
