The first season of House of the Dragon did a great job welcoming us back to Westeros, and things will get wild in Season 2. HBO teased the return of this epic fantasy series with a new trailer, which gives us a taste of the war of succession known as the Dance of the Dragons.

The first season of the Game of Thrones spin-off wrapped up with the death of King Viserys I Targaryen. This event will shape the future of House Targaryens for the centuries to come since it marks the beginning of the Dance of the Dragons, the war of succession that led to their downfall.

The new trailer sees Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) gathering allies and preparing for a clash of epic proportions. Season 2 will also mark the return of Matt Smith, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans, in addition to starring several new cast members, including Abubakar Salim, Freddie Fox, Gayle Rankin, Simon Russell Beale, and Clinton Liberty.

House of the Dragon was created for HBO by Ryan Condal and author George R.R. Martin. Its second season is coming to HBO on June 16, and it will feature eight new episodes.
