We’ve all thought that Logan marked Hugh Jackman’s last appearance as Wolverine, but he’s finally ready for more! The Oscar-nominated actor is getting ready to bring back the claws and play the beloved X-Men hero in the upcoming sequel Deadpool 3.

After years of playful revelry, Ryan Reynolds took it upon himself to reveal that Jackman is joining Deadpool 3. He shared a funny video that shows him “searching his soul” and “finding new depth, motivation, meaning” for the upcoming sequel, but coming up empty—until the very end of the video.

At one point, Hugh Jackman walks into the frame, and Reynolds asks him, “Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?” He simply replies with, “Yeah, sure, Ryan”, before walking up the stairs, thus confirming his return as his most iconic character.

Deadpool 3 marks the reunion between Jackman and Reynolds after they both appeared in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The reviews for this film were largely mixed and Reynolds’s portrayal of Deadpool wasn’t well-received, but he had a chance to redeem himself in standalone movies.

Deadpool 3 will be released on September 6, 2024, with Shawn Levy coming on board as a director. Plot details are being kept under wraps, and the rest of the cast is yet to be announced.
