The CW’s Jane the Virgin spinoff has cast Hunter Parrish.
Parrish has been tapped to star in Jane the Novela’s opposite Jacqueline Grace Lopez.
The spinoffhails from Jane creator Jennie Snyder Urman and star Gina Rodriguez. Penning the script is Jane scribe Valentina Garza. The pilot will be directed by Jane helmer Brad Silberling. The spinoff will continue in the Jane tradition — a telenovela anthology series in which each season is based on a different fictional novel “written by” Jane Villanueva (Rodriguez).
The first installment is set in a Napa Valley vineyard, where Parrish will play Felix, the rich kid who co-owns the vineyard with his mother Renata played by Desperate Housewives alum Marcia Cross. Felix is described as “Napa’s most eligible bachelor and heir apparent to his family’s winery. But though Felix’s future looks bright, he is tortured by the secrets of his past.”
Parrish is best known for his role on Showtime’s Weeds. His other credits include roles on This Is Us, The Good Wife, Quantico, Good Girls Revolt and The Following.
