Idina Menzel is in talks to join Sony’s Cinderella.
Menzel is poised to play the evil stepmother. Should she join the project, she is set to star opposite Camila Cabello who will star in the titular role.
News of Menzel’s negotiations comes just a day after multiple outlets confirm that Pose Emmy winner Billy Porter is in talks for the role of the fairy godmother.
The musical film adaptation of the classic folk tale is directed and written by Kay Cannon. The film grew out of an original idea from James Corden, who will be producing alongside Leo Pearlman through their Fulwell73 banner.
