Netflix Developing New Sherlock Holmes Series “The Irregulars”

Sherlock Holmes fandom is still recovering from the news Elementary is going off the air, but it seems the void it left will soon be filled.

Netflix is developing a new series based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s books, called The Irregulars. This promising project is being developed by Tom Bidwell, and it will offer a completely different look at the world of our favorite detective. Instead of focusing on Holmes, The Irregulars will follow the adventures of his little helpers.

“Sherlock Holmes had a group of street kids he’d use to help him gather clues, so our series is what if Sherlock was a drug addict and a delinquent and the kids solve the whole case whilst he takes credit?” said Bidwell.

He described The Irregulars as his dream project and admitted he’s been pitching it for 10 years. He finally saw eye to eye with Netflix bosses, who are supportive of his vision and willing to allow him to tell this story.

A release date of the upcoming series is still a mystery, but we can’t wait to solve it because the world could use a fresh new take on this hit series.
