J. Lee to Direct & Star in “Wednesdays”

The Orville star is set to direct his first feature title.

J. Lee will direct and star in a new dark comedy titled Wednesdays.

According to Deadline, the project is loosely inspired on Lee’s own experiences and follows Gabe, a seemingly successful guy in his thirties who has just discovered therapy. Gabe sees his therapist every Wednesday to work through his family and love-life issues when one day he meets a 9-year-old kid, Alec who also sees a psychologist in the same building. When Alec convinces Gabe that his mom forgot him at the office, the two go on a misadventure that will help Gabe find his truth and help Alec find his worth.

Wednesdays also star Seth Green, Michael Mosley, Emmy Raver-Lampman and Cooper Friedman.

Production of Wednesdays is scheduled to begin this month.
