Jacob Elordi is off of another amazing year after starring in Saltburn and Priscilla, and his future is looking bright. The Australian actor is circling the role of Frankenstein’s monster in Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s iconic horror novel.

Elordi is replacing Andrew Garfield, who decided to leave the project due to scheduling conflicts after the production was pushed in the face of dual strikes in Hollywood last year. He joins Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac, who’ll lead the project in the role of Victor Frankenstein, alongside Pearl’s Mia Goth and the two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz.

The supporting cast will also include Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front), Lars Mikkelsen (The Witcher), David Bradley (Game of Thrones), and Christian Convery (Sweet Tooth).

Del Toro’s Frankenstein adaptation marks the visionary director’s latest collaboration with Netflix after this streaming giant distributed his Oscar-winning animated film Pinocchio.

2023 has been a career-changing year for Elordi, who played key roles in Emerald Fennell’s psychological thriller Saltburn and Sofia Coppola’s biopic Priscilla. He’s currently attached to dramas On Swift Horses and Oh, Canada, in addition to being set to return as Nate Jacobs in the third season of HBO’s hit teen series Euphoria.
