Road House is the latest ’80s classic getting a modern-day remake, and judging by the first trailer—it looks pretty epic! Jake Gyllenhaal stars as UFC fighter turned roadhouse bouncer in the first trailer for Road House, ahead of its upcoming SXSW world premiere.

Doug Liman’s Road House puts a modern twist on the 80s cult classic led by Patrick Swayze. The Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal will take on the lead role this time around, and he’s set to portray an ex-UFC fighter Dalton, who takes a job as a bouncer at a Florida Keys roadhouse.

Gyllenhaal will be joined by Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen, Jessica Williams, Darren Barnet, Arturo Castro, and J.D. Pardo in supporting roles, along with the UFC superstar Conor McGregor in his acting debut.

Road House will have its world premiere at South by Southwest on March 8, but director Doug Liman won’t be in attendance. He decided to miss the premiere as a way of boycotting Amazon’s decision to release this film on their streaming platform Prime Video on March 21 instead of giving it a theatrical release.

“When Road House opens the SXSW film festival, I won’t be attending. The movie is fantastic, maybe my best, and I’m sure it will bring the house down and possibly have the audience dancing in their seats during the end credits. But I will not be there,” said Liman in a statement.
