Jason Momoa has been lobbying to play Lobo for quite some time, and he’s finally reaping the fruits of his labor. He’ll return to DC Universe in Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow in the role of the interstellar mercenary and bounty hunter Lobo.
Momoa announced his casting by sharing a quote from a previous interview that had him saying, “If they call and ask me to play him, it’s a f—k yeah. I haven’t received that call, so I don’t want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I’m there,” and captioned it by writing, “They called.”
Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow will be led by Milly Alcock as the eponymous heroine Kara Zor-El. It will be the second film in James Gunn’s rebooted DC Universe, and it will also star Matthias Schoenaerts as villain Krem of the Yellow Hill and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Mary Knolle.
This won’t be Momoa’s first major DC role. He previously portrayed Aquaman in several DC films, including Justice League, Aquaman, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. His recent roles include Dune, Fast X, and Slumberland, and he’ll next be seen in A Minecraft Movie.
