Jeff Bridges to Receive Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2019 Golden Globes

The Golden Globes are just around the corner, and Jeff Bridges will receive one of the biggest awards of the night. He’ll be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille award, bestowed on an artist who made a significant mark in the film industry.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s president Meher Tatna said they’re looking forward to celebrating The Big Lebowski star, his remarkable career, and philanthropic achievements.

“The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is delighted to bestow the 2019 Cecil B. DeMille Award on Jeff Bridges. Bridges’ brilliant body of work across diverse genres has captured the hearts and minds of audiences worldwide for more than six decades,” said Tatna.

Bridges has one Golden Globe victory under his belt, thanks to his magnificent performance in musical drama Crazy Heart from 2009. He also scored nods for the movies Starman (1984), The Fisher King (1991), The Contender (2000) and Hell or High Water (2016).

Some of the biggest success stories of his career, including the Coen brothers classics The Big Lebowski and True Grit, surprisingly didn’t make the cut, but HFPA will have an opportunity to honor them with Cecil B. DeMille award.
