Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon TV series picked up by Apple

In an attempt to rival streaming service like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu, Apple has just officially announced that it has ordered two seasons of the show.

The dramatic series will star Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon and will explore the behind-the-scenes action of daily morning shows and its players. The two Hollywood A-listers will also executive-produce the untitled project.

While Witherspoon just starred in Big Little Lies which won her an Outstanding Limited Series Emmy for her work as a producer on the star-studded HBO miniseries, this role makes Aniston’s first regular TV gig since Friends ended in 2004. This project serves as a sort of reunion for the two as they have collaborated in the past on the show Friends where Witherspoon played Aniston’s sister.

The untitled drama is executive-produced by Media Res’ Michael Ellenberg, who worked on The Leftovers with Jay Carson (House of Cards) serving as writer and show-runner.
