Jennifer Aniston’s new movie Dumplin’ will be out in about a month, and judging by the first trailer – it’s a must-watch! The Friends alum plays the role of a former beauty queen whose world turns upside down when her plus-size teenage daughter signs up for a pageant.
We’ve got a couple of body-positive projects that missed the mark this year, but it seems Dumplin’ is going to be different. Danielle Macdonald, who got her big break with Patti Cake$, plays the titular character in this refreshing comedy.
This teen describes her decision to sign up for a beauty pageant as a protest in heels, but it quickly turns into something more. Her move inspires other diverse contestants to follow in her footsteps and eventually ends up revolutionizing the competition – and their small Texas town as a whole.
Dumplin’ is based on the young adult novel of the same name by Julie Murphy, and it will be available for streaming on Netflix starting with December 7.
