Alafair Burke’s novel The Better Sister is getting its TV adaptation, and its cast is shaping up to be pretty amazing. Amazon Prime Video is developing this thriller series, and Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks are set to play lead roles and executive produce this project.

Biel and Banks will lead this thriller that explores the terrible things that drive sisters apart and ultimately bring them back together. After being estranged for years, Chloe (Biel) and Nicky (Banks) are forced to reunite in the wake of the tragic death of Chloe’s husband Adam, whose murder ends up unlocking long-buried secrets they’ve been avoiding facing.

Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado will serve as showrunners and executive producers of The Better Sister, and they’re looking forward to bringing it to life alongside the director Craig Gillespie.

“We are so grateful to Tomorrow Studios for supporting us as we’ve explored the world of this family… We couldn’t feel luckier to have Jessica and Elizabeth, who have awed us with their rich and layered work, as partners bringing these sisters and their secrets to life,” said the duo in a statement.

Jessica Biel made a successful transition to television in recent years and starred in USA Network’s The Sinner and Hulu’s Candy. As for Elizabeth Banks, we’ve seen her direct Charlie’s Angels and Co–ine Bear, in addition to starring in The Beanie Bubble and Call Jane.
